1. Who is PMI?

2. PMI's regulators

APRA is the prudential regulator of banks, insurance companies, superannuation funds, credit unions, building societies and friendly societies. It is APRA's mission to establish and enforce prudential standards and practices designed to ensure that, under all reasonable circumstances, financial promises made by institutions we supervise are met within a stable, efficient and competitive financial system.

Rating Agencies: Standard & Poor's, Moodys and Fitch
These organisations conduct annual reviews of PMI and monitor our performance to ensure that we meet their AA/Aa2 insurer financial strength ratings.

Insurance Contracts Act
Insurance contracts are subject to the Insurance Contracts Act (1984) this includes Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).
